Social Intelligence Technologies Experimental Studio (SITES) is a lab/design studio led by Yoyo Tsung-Yu Hou at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taipei, Taiwan.

Weekly lab meetings are held on Tuesdays at noon (12:10–13:00). Please make sure to attend.

Publishing

Submit a paper before your thesis defense

You are required to submit a paper of submittable quality to a conference or journal before your final thesis defense. Acceptable submission types include main track, late-breaking work, poster, or workshop.

English: CHI, CSCW, DIS, UIST, Ubicomp, IUI, MobileHCI, TOCHI, TOSC, ICWSM, WebConf, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Computers in Human Behavior, HRI, RO-MAN, International Journal of Social Robotics, IEEE Transactions on Robotics.

Mandarin: TAICHI, 設計學報, 台灣資訊社會研究學刊.

If you would like to submit to a different venue, feel free to discuss it. Submissions to all top-tier journals and conferences are welcome.

Advising

Schedule regular 1-on-1 meetings with Yoyo

Second-year students and above: at least once every 3 weeks. First-year students: at least once every 6 weeks.

  • 20 minutes — signing documents, quick questions, short check-ins.
  • 40 minutes — general research discussions, brainstorming, short revisions.
  • 60 minutes+ — in-depth revision, proposals, methodology, hypotheses.

Please book consecutive time slots. For example, if someone booked 4:40–5:00, book 4:20–4:40 or 5:00–5:20.
